• Images, Consent & Abuse (Overview)

While there has been longstanding historical understanding of how abuse impacts survivors the complexities of abuse intersecting with technology are much more nuanced and complex. This resource is designed as an introductory guide to support those to better understand how images shared without consent cause harm to survivors.

  • Understanding Sexting and Non-Consensual Intimate Image Sharing

It has become increasingly common to send intimate content to a partner as technology is replacing human interaction. Is sexting the problem? No, the misuse and sharing of these images without consent is the problem, not the images themselves. Unfortunately, abusers can use intimate images as a way to manipulate, blackmail, or threaten survivors. This informational handout provides information about Intimate Images and highlights what Non-consensual Intimate Images is and what it is not.
